  • The Arizona Attorney General's Office, Child and Family Protection Division/Protective Services Section is seeking a Legal Secretary II to provide secretarial support for one or more Assistant Attorney Generals which includes: preparation of all legal pleadings and documents necessary to process dependency/severance cases on behalf of the client; drafting and typing correspondence; answering inquiries from the client, court personnel and others regarding case activity and status; inputting data into and using an automated case management system to maintain and track case records and activity; independently generating legal forms needed in all types of actions; maintaining court calendar and legal deadlines; preparing documents and legal memoranda; and other projects assigned, including transcription. Duties involve reviewing, creating, and processing materials and information that are confidential pursuant to federal and state laws. Preferred candidate will have experience as a legal secretary.

  • The Pima County Attorney's Office, is seeking a Legal Secretary to provide support to the attorneys in the criminal division.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An Associate’s degree or a certificate of completion from an accredited college or technical school as a legal secretary. OR Successful completion of course work in legal terminology or legal office procedures from an accredited school and one year of legal clerical experience involving the preparation and processing of legal documents or providing legal clerical support to an attorney. (Additional relevant education from an accredited college or technical school and/or experience may be substituted)
    DUTIES: In direct support of legal functions and performs a variety of specialized legal secretarial tasks which require distinct knowledge of legal procedures, documentation and legal time constraints, and make independent decisions regarding the processing of legal documents. This classification has primary responsibility for completion of assigned tasks and functions by an attorney or paralegal.

  • The Yavapai County Attorney’s Office, is actively recruiting for a Legal Secretary, this position performs a variety of legal secretarial and office duties. This employment status is full time. 
    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Open new files and prepare initial legal documents; file documents with the appropriate court; organize and maintain documents and case files; process, copy and log incoming documents and update databases;
    assist attorneys in collecting reports, evidence, information; compile information; provide disclosure information to attorneys; process and complete outer agency forms; make photocopies of correspondence,
    documents and case files; complete investigations. Format, prepare, process, compose, type letters, memoranda, and various legal documents from copy or rough draft; prepare confidential and sensitive
    documents; mail, fax or arrange for delivery; distribute correspondence or mail; prepare bad check cases for court including contact and interview victims, witnesses and check writers; complete reports; swear out
    criminal complaints. Deal with courts, law enforcement agencies, general public, telephonically and/or in person; receive and place phone calls and schedule interviews and/or interview petitioners. Maintain
    calendars. Work with various computer applications (internal and external). Perform other duties as required or assigned.

    Plan and carry out assignments. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, other agencies and the public. Follow written and verbal instructions. Communicate effectively
    verbally, in writing, telephonically or in a face to face setting with public and employees. Comprehend and make inferences from written material. Operate a variety of standard office equipment requiring a continuous
    or repetitive arm hand movements, enter data into a keyboard device. Remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
